My Novella and Other Celebrations

Saturday was one of those days that sustain me through the jitters and stretches of doubt. I celebrate those victories hard, y'all.

First things first--the novella came out! I can still hardly believe it. I may or may not have refreshed the amazon page a time or two since then. I expect that impulse will be wrung out of me soon enough. Heh.

Cross Cutting: The Thin is the first in the trilogy. The Hollow and The Marrow will be following along in in the next months.

If that weren't enough fun for the day, I got a surprise in my in-box. It was my first ever pro-rate payment for a short story! It was a goal of mine to make that rate and I'm so happy my story found a good home.

I don't have confirmation about the date yet, but I'm hoping my story will appear in the October issue of Urban Fantasy magazine.

I've been dancing around and grinning and all, but I'm also getting back to work. I've got a lot to do--stories to write, a novel to outline, all that.

Cheers! And thanks for reading.

I made sure to have lunch at the Caribbean Food Truck during Gen Con. For luck. And delicious food. This is conch fritters, mac and cheese, and ginger beer. The purse was my desperate attempt to create some shade. The sunburn was worth it.
